Preparing for Fall: Making It the Best Season Yet 🍂

I know it’s only the second week of July but before we know it fall will be here! it is one of the most picturesque and cozy times of the year, and I can’t wait to make it the best fall season yet! I wanted to share with some tips and ideas to help you prep for the season ahead.

🍁 Set a Realistic Budget 🍁

Budgeting for Fall Festivities

One of the first steps to preparing for fall is setting a [realistic] budget for seasonal activities and decor. it’s so tempting to go all out, and having a budget in place helps keep spending in check. i think it’s also important to Be realistic and acknowledge that you might go a little over, but having a ballpark figure will give you a sense of control for the season ahead!!

Tip: Track your expenses as you go. It’s easy to lose sight of your spending when you’re swept up in the excitement of fall decor shopping (I know from experience LOL) or planning outings. all you need is a simple spread sheet! we use excel to track our spending.

Reuse and Refresh Your Decor

Decor on a Budget

Before heading out to buy new fall decor, take inventory of what you already have. i do this every year for every season, especially for fall and Christmas decor. Reusing decor from previous years not only saves money but also allows you to add a touch of nostalgia to your home, incorporating all of the lovely memories from previous years!

for new decor, i’ve already started sharing roundups here! i share things early so that when you’re ready, you have a full page to shop through!

Tip: Mix old with new. Incorporate a few new pieces each year to keep your decor fresh and exciting. i always order seasonal decor ahead of time because seasonal decor is typically lower stock and sells out quick. Think about small additions like new decor accents, a cozy blanket, or a fun seasonal pillow. (P.s. i will be doing a few fall pillow giveaways in august and September so keep your eyes peeled on my IG!!)

Brainstorm Craft and DIY Projects

Cozy Fall Craft Night Ideas

Fall is the perfect time for cozy craft nights (you can find lots of DIY ideas on my IG!). having a list of ideas ready can make these moments more enjoyable. Last year, I did a fall kickoff featuring DIY garlands, simmer pots, and DIY pumpkins, which were perfect for craft nights with girlfriends and family members.

Tip: Use social media and Pinterest for inspiration. A quick search can provide endless ideas for fun and easy fall projects.

Organize a Fall Wardrobe Refresh

Transitioning to Fall Wardrobe

in august, I start to Pack away my summer clothes and bring out cozy sweaters, scarves, and boots. This is also a great time to assess your fall wardrobe and see if there are any gaps that need filling.

Tip: Create a capsule wardrobe. Focusing on a few key pieces that can be mixed and matched not only saves space but also simplifies getting dressed each day.

Create a Fall Bucket List

Make a list of all the things you want to do this fall. having a list helps you stay focused on enjoying the season.

Tip: Keep your list visible. Put it on your fridge or somewhere you’ll see it regularly to remind you of all the fun activities you want to accomplish.

Preparing for fall doesn’t have to be overwhelming! With a little planning and creativity, you can make this season the best one yet!! Remember to set a budget, plan your activities in advance, reuse and refresh your decor, and embrace all the cozy, delicious, and fun aspects of fall. Happy fall, everyone!
