i always enjoy switching up our front porch for the seasons and this year’s summer look is one of my favorites! the goal was to create a cozy and inviting space with beautiful planters and lanterns. I wanted it to feel layered but a little more simplified than my typical porch designs. as always, I want our outside to look and feel as cozy as it does on this inside and I really feel like we nailed it this time around! we found so many beautiful pieces from Walmart that really elevated our front porch.

I found some stunning planters that not only look elegant but are also super durable and are perfect for withstanding the elements. The large urns on both sides of the door created a balanced and symmetrical look that feels both grand and inviting. these are a phenomenal price for the size too! I Added a few classic lanterns to enhance the ambiance, making the space feel warm and welcoming, especially during the lovely summer evenings. the lanterns come in 3 different sizes which is perfect for layering and making a space extra cozy.

Layered Planting for a Refined Porch

One of my favorite aspects of this porch makeover was creating a layered look with plants. I didn’t use as many as a typically would, because I wanted to refine the look this season. But I chose plants in a variety of scale to create depth. The hydrangea trees are the stars (we have the same trees in our backyard and LOVE them!). Complementing them are smaller pots filled with trailing greenery, adding depth and texture to the steps. The smaller planters are such a great find from Walmart and a price you can’t beat!

Transforming my front porch for the summer was such a rewarding weekend project. The combination of quality planters, lush hydrangeas, and cozy lanterns from Walmart has turned this space into a warm and inviting entryway that I truly love!
