The final part of my mini-review series is my Smeg Cookware Review! Smeg launched its cookware line last year & I love this entire collection. They gifted me these pieces to try and I’ve loved them since! Smeg is known for its retro design and I love that they incorporated that into cookware. I have all cream appliances so I was really happy that I could get the cookware in cream as well!
Here are a few places you can find smeg cookware!
west elm | williams sonoma | amazon | qvc | crate and barrel
Knife block
I love that the Smeg Knife Block Set has a retro design and is made to sit on the counter! The knives are of excellent quality and much sharper than the knives I previously had! We got this knife block as an upgrade to the ones we were gifted for our wedding. It had been about five years and we had worn through our old set. The Smeg Knife Block comes with six knives and woodblock to store them in!
It sits on the counter right next to the fridge, which is the perfect spot for food prep. The block has an antislip grip on the bottom which keeps it in place and helps prevent any accidents from happening. The function of prepping food is a lot smoother to go right from the fridge to the counter ready to cut. Our old knives were stored in the drawer farthest from our fridge which made for lots of back and forth around the kitchen. I never realized how much I would like having a knife block until we got this one!
One thing to note is how easy the knives are to grab out of the knife block. I find this to be a benefit but it could be a hazard if you have young kids to worry about in the kitchen. The knives are really sharp, so I would just be sure to keep this out of reach of little hands!
Pots and pans
These are the best pots and pans I’ve ever had. I didn’t realize how much I would love these until I started using them! I might have a slight obsession with my cream kitchen appliances 😆 so I absolutely love that I can have cream pots and pans to match.
They are the best nonstick pans I’ve ever used. They make all of my food look restaurant-style, I finally felt excited to start sharing food on Instagram with you because everything turns out so good. Having good quality pans makes a huge difference in the way food cooks. We cook at home a lot so it was important to me to have pots and pans that would hold up with all the cooking I do!
I have all the pots and pans they offer, except for the saucepan. The cookware is available in cream, black, and red depending on where you purchase from. I wanted the cream to match the rest of my Smeg. The exterior of the pots and pans is super durable and has held up quite well so far. I was a little worried that they might start to wear on the outside but I haven’t had any problems yet!
At first, I found this a little odd that some of the pans didn’t have lids. The frying pans and wok don’t come with lids. The casserole, saucepan, and braiser have lids. So far I haven’t needed them when cooking so I assume something in the design of the pans helps to ensure proper cooking without a lid. The lids aren’t interchangeable so if you did need a lid for your frying pan or wok, the others will not fit which could be a downside to the Smeg cookware. This hasn’t been an issue for me, but I would keep this in mind if you are considering these pots and pans!
To store my pots, pans, and lids I use this organizer. The organizer can adjust to fit different sizes and has a support bar to keep handles elevated. It keeps everything neat and organized in my cabinets and saves space!
Overall, I’m really happy with all my Smeg cookware! Everything is really well designed, durable, and makes amazing food. All cookware is dishwasher safe which is a huge bonus. If you are curious about other Smeg products I have full reviews of my large and small Smeg appliances on the blog, here and here! If you have any other questions about my cookware let me know & I’d be happy to help.
