in 2023, I became a make-a-latte-at-home girlie. And ever since then I really haven’t turned back. No joke, when I try other coffee spots when I’m out of town, I always think my coffee is better at home haha! I have the Breville Barista Touch Impress Espresso Machine. I received this beauty because of a collab with Crate and Barrel, and let me tell you, it’s a game-changer. this post is not sponsored meaning my work for the brand has been completed since last year. I just wanted to leave a review because this machine is truly amazing and I always get lots of questions on my thoughts about it! As someone new to home espresso, I was both excited and a bit nervous, but this machine made it all so easy. I can’t express that enough!
a standout feature for me has to be the alternative milk settings. I’m an oat milk person, & Alt milks are challenging to froth in general. But The automated settings adjust for almond, oat, or soy milk. It knows the temperature to do for each type of milk which is super cool and you will never experience that ”burnt’ latte taste. At least I haven’t and I’ve had the machine since May 2023.
Since the machine has a steam wand attached, we make hot matcha lattes with it which is another added bonus!
One thing that is a little bit of a learning curve is ‘manual froth’ because that is more technique than anything. You can froth your milk auto or manual (another perk) so whenever you see me sharing latte art on stories that’s me manually frothing the milk. My failures are not because of the machine though, it’s 100% my technique that I still have to nail down lol.
Another thing I love is the side lever for tamping espresso – It applies just the right amount of pressure, making my espresso shots consistently great. It also has auto correction for the next grind to achieve a precise puck, again something that makes it really easy for a beginner to make an amazing latte at home.
One of the unexpected benefits of this machine has been how it’s cut down my cafe visits. I used to be a regular at Duck Rabbit (still love them occasionally but I just buy their beans and make them at home instead!). It has definitely saved me a lot of money although i still love going to the coffee shop for occasionally treats and meet ups!
I’ve got to say, Breville has won me over with this one. Their range of espresso machines is impressive, catering to various budgets and preferences. If you’re considering an espresso machine, definitely check out Breville – you won’t be disappointed. I’ll link my espresso machine and lots of other options below!
Also wanted to share, my coffee table is vintage and the hanging rails are from devol kitchens, linked here!
