Christine Comes Over: Front Porch Revamp

*this post is sponsored by Wayfair

Introducing: Christine Comes Over—a fun, *new* series where I go to friends/family houses and decorate spaces in their homes. First up, I’m working on my friend Emily’s front porch! I’ll be enhancing the porch without doing any major renovations. You can bring a space to life with high-quality, easy-to-assemble furniture and of course lots of plants! 👩‍🌾🪴

I’m so excited to be working with Keter and Wayfair on Emily’s front porch revamp. Keter designs products with sustainable materials to elevate your exterior space. They have everything from patio furniture to outdoor entertainment and storage solutions, you may have seen some of their products on HGTV before! I love working with companies that focus on sustainability and longevity. I was so excited to learn that ALL Keter products are 100% recyclable and made with recycled materials. In 2020, Keter used 40% recycled materials in their production totaling 130k tons of recycled plastic – seriously SO incredible!

I used to stay over at Emily’s house a few years ago when I would commute to and from work (Cleveland to Columbus) and while I was over I would decorate spaces in her home. So starting this series with her house was a no-brainer! She's been wanting to give her porch an update so this was a perfect opportunity to kick off the series. 😆

Since we aren’t doing any major renovations I decided to tie in the natural brick of her home and find ways to make pieces pop off the brick wall. I think it’s important that their porch ties into the classic look of their home, while also being a comfy spot to relax for a morning coffee or casual evening hangout. Below is a before photo to get an idea of what my starting point was!

I picked these Keter rocking chairs, I love the classic Adirondack style and how the white pops against the brick wall. (They come in a couple of other colors as well! I’m also giving away a pair of chairs, enter here!) The Keter rocking chairs are super easy to assemble, durable, and made to last. The chairs are made of resin, which is easy to clean just hose or wipe down with mild soap! As a bonus, they are designed to endure all weather conditions, all year long.

I wanted this space to go beyond comfort and be functional for them! So I added a matching side table to set their coffee, drinks, books, etc. I also incorporated a beverage cooler so they can enjoy an afternoon on the porch without going back and forth inside the house to get drinks. Since I used the white furniture to pop off the brick wall on her porch, I wanted to add the grey cooler to create a little dimension.

Plants bring life to a space and add a ton of character to your home without having to make any major changes. Emily's front porch is shaded; so I used a variety of plants that will like shade/bright and indirect light! It truly wouldn’t be a Christine Comes Over if I didn’t incorporate plants, am I right?! 😅

i’m so happy with how Emily’s front porch revamp turned out. The outdoor furniture from Keter enhanced this space so much & made it into a spot they will enjoy for many years to come! It doesn’t take major renovations to transform your home. With high-quality, easy-to-assemble furniture and lots of plants, I was able to revamp their porch and turn this into another relaxing part of their home!
