Small Smeg Appliances Review

It’s time for the second post of my Smeg review series! In this post, you’ll find my review of the coffee maker, kettle, and toaster. As well as my wishlist for some future Smeg appliances I’d love to add to my collection. For all of my small appliances I have the cream color, I might be a little obsessed with it—but I’m okay with that! IYKYK! 🤣 The cream can look a little bit yellow online but it is the perfect off-white in person.

Here are a few places you can find smeg appliances!

Coffee Maker

Functionally, the Coffee Maker is great! It brews coffee very well, I have no complaints. It’s been three years and we’ve never had a problem with it so I’d say it’s worth the investment. We used to replace coffee makers way more frequently because ours would stop working or the brand would make an update/new designs so we’d want a new one.

There are a couple of features of the coffee maker that I really like. It comes with a reusable filter, we use it and clean it every day. It's so convenient to have a reusable filter! It’s a perfect size, it fits nicely on our kitchen counter without taking up too much space and the carafe holds 10 cups of coffee which works great for us. We only brew 4 cups per day which is more than enough. I also love the overall design of the coffee maker, it gives the perfect vintage look while still having all the modern conveniences.

We use the automatic start setting during the workweek. You can schedule what time you’d like your coffee to start brewing each day. Shawn is up and working before me so the other feature we like on the coffee maker is the warmer! It doesn’t stay hot for hours on end but it does keep it warm for about an hour (give or take a little).

Mini Tea Kettle

This little guy is my FAVE. I got the Mini Tea Kettle for our office space so I can brew tea while working and I’ve also found it to be a new part of my routine during my Moody Bible classes on Mondays! I brew some tea before the live stream starts and it’s honestly just a lovely and peaceful routine. The size is perfect for quick cups of tea and the water gets very hot.

It’s pretty basic function-wise, just like the coffee maker. But I love it and have been through a couple of different tea kettles. This one is my fave! I have the mini version but if you’re looking for a larger size kettle, they have that too! The mini kettle has a 3 cup capacity, the large has a 7 cup capacity.

The kettle has an auto shut off feature which turns off once it reaches a certain temperature or when the kettle is empty. Other features I enjoy are the soft-opening lid which helps to manage the steam release and a swivel base that goes full circle. If you are a frequent tea drinker you will love this kettle.

One thing I personally think could be added to the kettle would be the temperature. Even if it was tiny and by the knob! I was recently trying to find what the temperature gets to for the kettle and i wasn’t able to find it. Its probably in the manual but I threw it away lol. could just be a ‘me’ problem. :)

Toaster

I just got the Smeg Toaster in November, so I haven’t had it for too long but I can already tell that it works so much better than our last toaster. We had our previous toaster for 5 years and by the end, it wasn’t working great. We would have to set it to the highest setting for it to barely toast. The smeg toaster feels like a major upgrade!

The first time I used it I was shocked by how much better it works than my previous toaster. The settings are true to expectations, with six browning levels and three preset programs. It also has a removable crumb tray to make cleaning the toaster even easier. The one complaint I’ve heard is that the toast pops out too high. While I will say that it has a bit more of a ‘pop’ than my previous toaster, I don’t mind it. jUst something to keep in mind.

I chose the two-slice toaster, which works great for the two of us. They also sell a four-slice toaster and a four-slot toaster if you’d prefer a bigger one! I prefer the smaller size because it takes up less space.

Wishlist

I have a couple of small Smeg appliances on my wishlist, so I thought I’d share those with you too! In the future, I’d love to add the hand mixer and stand mixer to my collection, I enjoy baking so these would be amazing to have. The juicer and blender are on my wishlist as well. On Shawn’s wishlist is the automatic coffee and espresso machine with a milk frother…even though I explained to him that it won’t physically fit in our house lol.

If you have and love any of these let me know which you think we should get next! In case you missed it you can find my large appliance review here & stay tuned for my cookware review coming up next.
